Scenery for FS2002
Bowerman Field - Hoquim, Washington

Introduction:

Bowerman Field is located just west of Hoquim, Washington, a short flight from Seattle, Portland, or British Columbia. With a 5000' runway, Bowerman is the only airport on the Washington coast big enough to receive Jets. This field was a favorite destination for me; flying skyhawks from the Seattle area back in the "good old days", its not too far and you can get a great lunch at Lana's.

I had previously released a version of this airport for fs2000. My friend David Smith took digital photos of the structures for that project. For this work, I recreated the textures from the original photos as I felt I could do better. This is my first airport using GMAX for building the 3d structures. The towers are still from fsds. With GMAX structures and ground textures applied using resample.exe, frame rates have remained excellent compared to my fs2000 version.

All structures in this scenery are photorealistic. The ground textures are made from the USGS doqq aerial photographs.

This airport was made with FSSC, GMAX, FSDS, ASD, resample.exe/tmf2bgl.exe, and hand coded scasm files for taxiway markings and excludes.

Installation:

No other files should be needed to use this scenery. I recommend installing this scenery into a folder remote from your main fs2000 scenery directory. Name the folder anything you like and make a subdirectory named "scenery", another named "texture".

Extract the contents of scenery.zip into your scenery subdirectory. Extract the contents of texture.zip into your texture subdirectory.

Start FS2002 and "add" the new scenery in the library under the world|library pull down menu in fs2002.
